Holding That Position Until the Action Happens

November 15th, 2010 Nancy Elwood

I was out at my local wetlands yesterday morning and boy was the light fantastic!!  This resident eagle was posing for us, but I wanted to get him as he flew off.  So I positioned myself where I thought would be good when he made his move, pointed my 500 up at him, attached to the Quick Action Harness, and just waited.  It was a fair few minutes, but then off he went.  This is the resulting image.   I was VERY pleased!!

January 28-30, 2011 we will be attending the GNPA’s yearly Expo at Callaway Gardens, Georgia, as a vendor for our Quick Action Harness. It has become quite a large and strong club, so if anyone in Georgia, or nearby, is interested in becoming a part of a photography club with lots of nice folks please think about joining them. Their website is http://www.gnpa.org/.  And anyone reading this that will be attending please come by and say hello and this is your chance to have all your questions answered and even try one on with your setup or with mine.

Being Mobile Makes All the Difference

August 22nd, 2010 Nancy Elwood

Again I was out at my local wetland, the Viera Wetlands, trying to capture these lovely Black-bellied Whistling Ducks. I wanted something different, showing interaction. I attached my Nikon D300s and Nikon 500 f/4 with the Nikon 1.4TC to the Quick Action Harness and found a spot that the activity came closer to the road. As the birds flew around, I was able to quickly reposition myself for the shot I wanted.
