New Modifications!

We have made two modifications to our Quick Action Harness. Our original model, on the left, shows a large black knob on the stomach plate, which is used to secure the up and down adjustments to the telescopic arm. This has been replaced by a snap button system, shown on the right. Just press on the button and adjust the telescopic arm up or down. The button will automatically pop into the next hole. Also, there is no longer any part of the telescopic arm that protrudes from the bottom of the stomach plate. The next modification was to change the shape of the stomach plate, decreasing the width of it slightly. A larger image of the harness with the new modificatons is shown below.

Mobility Was The Key!

I was visiting one of my favorite wetlands this past weekend. My focus was on the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks, who are nesting there in great numbers. They were flying in and out of this particular area that had topless palm trees. I wanted to get as few obstructions in the background as possible, so with the Quick Action Harness I could move around quickly as they flew around to get the best action without those obstructions. Both of the images were taken with the Nikon D300s and Nikon 500 f/4, but of course the Quick Action Harness can be used with any of the big telephoto lens, such as the 600mm f/4′s, 200-400mm f/4, 800 mm’s, etc of any brand.

Not Just Snail Kites

This past weekend I was out again to visit the snail kites, but I really wanted a nice limpkin, in flight, image. They were flying all around the reeds. You see they feed and nest in the same environment as the snail kites, but they fly up from the reeds, unexpectedly, and are very difficult to anticipate and follow. I loaded my Nikon D300s with my Nikon 500 f/4 and attached the 1.4TC, then up on the Quick Action Harness it went. All of a sudden I saw one come out of the reeds and fly right in front of them for a short distance. Our boat was just at the right angle, so I caught the limpkin in my view finder, and panning, pressed the shutter down. These are my results and mind you these are 90% of the frame. With the Quick Action Harness I did not tire from holding my camera and lens up waiting for my target!

Great Morning With The Snail Kites

The best way to capture snail kites is from a boat and the Quick Action Harness is perfect for this type of photography! The weather cooperated and so did the snail kites. Out came my Nikon 500 f/4 with and without a TC. We were out for a good two to three hours and I had the QAH on the entire time without any problems whatsoever. I was able to pan and keep my lens fixed on the incoming subjects without tiring. And as you can see from the images below, I was quite happy with the results.

Back From The Georgia Nature Photograhers Association Expo

We had a terrific time at Callaway Gardens with all the GNPA members! Our Quick Action Harness was received very well with sales and prospective sales. The first image is with Michael who bought the Quick Action Harness for his D3 and Nikon 200-400 lens setup. Here he is using my Nikon 500 f/4 on his harness showing and telling the others all about his experience using it. The second image is with Larry and his Canon setup who really enjoyed using it and is thinking hard about getting one. They both sure do look comfortable with their setup!
